A DAILY PRAYER

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.
Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. And give me the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.
I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak... Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.
I pray for those who are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those who don't believe.
But I thank You that I believe that God changes people and God changes things.
I pray for my spouse, all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households.
I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes; that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees it.
In Jesus' name. Amen!

FLY TO YOUR HEART (TINKERBELL)

Fly To Your Heart Lyrics

Watch all the flowers
Dance with the wind
Listen to snowflakes
Whisper your name
Feel all the wonder
Lifting your dreams
You can fly

Fly to who you are
Climb upon your star
You believe you'll find
Your wings
Fly
To your heart

Touch every rainbow
Painting the sky
Look at the magic
Glide through your life
A sprinkle of pixie dust
Circles the night you can fly

Fly to who you are
Climb upon your star
You believe you'll find
Your wings
Fly

Everywhere you go
Your soul will find a home
You'll be free to spread
Your wings
Fly

You can fly
To your heart
(Fly, fly)

Rise to the heights of all
You can be
(Fly, fly)

Soar on the hope of
Marvelous things

Fly to who you are
Climb upon your star
You believe you'll find
Your wings
Fly

Everywhere you go
Your soul will find a home
You'll be free to spread
Your wings
Fly
you can fly to your heart

FLING IT OUT!

I just finished the devotional book "Boomerang Joy" by Barbara Johnson. I loved this book! Anyway here is the poem she wrote to finish the book.

When someone does a kindness
That brightens up your day;
When a good friend helps you smile although
Your heart's chock-full of pain . . .
When a gift comes unexpectedly
To make your spirits rise,
When a little word is said
To put a twinkle in your eye . . .
Don't forget to fling that kindness
Right back out to someone else.
Send it on with sweet abandon --
Don't just keep it to yourself.
For joy that's shared is a boomerang.
Each kindness that you do,
Each smile you share, each heart you lift
Flings joy right back to you.

Dreaming with the ABC's

As you dream, keep in mind these ABC's

Aim high
Believe in God
Consider your options
Don't give up
Enrich your soul
Find faith in doubt
Go for the grace
Hang on
Ignore discouragement
Just let Jesus!
Keep trying
Love life
Make merry
Never say, "I can't"
Open your mind
Pray hard
Quit whining
Read the Bible
Stay strong
Take on the challenge
Understand the obstacles
Value virtue
Wait patiently
X-celerate hope
Yield to the Holy Spirit
Zero in on joy

This devotional was sooo good! I wanted to post all of it, but you'd probly get bored with it. It comes from "Boomerang Joy" by Barbara Johnson. I'm almost finished with this devotional as it was only 60 devotionals. I hope I find another one just as full of love, fun & faith! 'Cause right now I really need a LOT of all three.

Remember to pray for Tina & Julie tomorrow as they go thru their surgeries. Love you girls!

FRIENDSHIP

MY OATH TO YOU

When you are sad...
I will dry your tears.

When you are scared...
I will comfort your fears.

When you are worried...
I will give you hope.

When you are confused...
I will help you cope.

And when you are lost..
And can't see the light, I shall be your beacon..Shining ever so bright.
This is my oath...I pledge till the end.
Why you may ask? ...
Because you're my friend.
Signed: GOD

Thankfulness

Thank You, dear God, for all You have given me, for all You have taken from me, for all You have left me.

All the water in the world, however hard it tried,
Could never sink a ship unless it got inside.
All the evil in the world, the wickedness and sin,
Can never sink your soul's fair craft unless you let it in.

If things are tough, remember that every flower that ever bloomed had to go through a whole lot of dirt to get there. The almighty Father will use life's reverses to move you forward. So do not keep grieving about a bitter experience. The present is slipping by while you are regretting the past and worrying about the future. Regret will not prevent tomorrow's sorrows; it will only rob today of its strength. So keep on believing. With Jesus you have
not a hopeless end but an endless hope!
God knows exactly how much you can take, and He will never permit you to reach a breaking point. He will not twist your arm or let go of your hand. He is stitching your sails with love. His work takes time but it will never unravel in a storm. So whether you're sailing the high seas or floundering in the pits, know that yesterday is just experience but tomorrow us glistening with purpose-and today is the channel leading from one to the other. Sail on boldly and bravely. For the Father in heaven will never leave the helm of your ship!

BITS & PIECES

A lot of my blog ideas come from something that has touched me. Steve & I are doing a nightly devotional by Dr. James & Shirley Dobson called 'Night Light'. These came from that book:
The moment you tell other parents how to raise their kid the odds increase that your own child will turn up on America's Most Wanted.

We think we've figured life out, but then we wade in & discover otherwise. All in all, this is a good thing. For when our future is sure & certain, when all the corners are tucked in nice & neat, there is no need for faith.

This is from 'Boomerang Joy' by Barbara Johnson
Write down five things you are thankful for each day.

I am better than I was but not quite as good as I was before I got worse.

PERMANENT HOOKUP

God
I am always getting one thing
Straightened out with You
And then another lion
Jumps out of the jungle.
Why couldn't You create
Some kind of permanent hookup
So life would stay
Settled, serene
And ecstatically spiritual?
Dear child
I have
It's called Heaven.

Post Halloween

I guess I've just not been a very big fan of Halloween. We went last night to Randy & Mara's for the annual Halloween get-together. I had never been so this was all new. The people there who had kids dressed them up and after we ate sandwiches they took them out trick-or-treating in the area around Randy & Mara's home. I remember seeing Curious George, Batman, & Cat Woman, I believe Will was Robin, & Joel, i think, was a banana. After trick-or-treating it was back to the house where the kids proceeded to go through their candy & if mommy said one piece of candy was all they could have, the little rascals would wait til mommy was outta the room & ask daddy for more (daddy of course not knowing mommy had said just one). But they were so cute. We then had dessert. You should try Shasta's ginger no-snaps with her pumpkin dip (I think she said she got the recipe from Julie). My poor hubby dozed off a couple of times but he'd been up since before the roosters get up and we'd been running around most of the day. Little Paul snuck up on him once and grabbed him & woke him up. Luckily Steve didn't start swingin' fists. That's what he usually does when he's startled awake. I did make sure there weren't any beverages nearby! Anyways, I don't remember dressing up for Halloween or going trick-or-treating. I'm sure I did though. There are 6 of us, me being the oldest, & I'm sure that was a big deal. I do know that even now at 51 yrs old, if I were in Oklahoma I'd go to my G'ma's & get a popcorn ball. I know the kind she makes now are easier to make (they're made with marshmallows) but she used to make the syrup kind and they had vinegar in them. And darn-it G'ma, I miss 'em! I bought candy for trick-or-treaters but didn't know if the kids would have any of the little goblins so I got candy I liked that I could eat later! Trying to watch what I eat & do that! Speaking of buying candy, I've learned that it's NEVER a good time to grocery shop. If I've just eaten then nothin on the grocery list looks good. If I haven't eaten then I pick up things that look good. Now I try to shop half-way between meals. And why is it that when you're trying to eat healthy that healthy food costs more? Now you see where I get the title of my blog, Wonderings & Wanderings. 'Cause my mind sure does a lot of wandering! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
