Bibles & Cell phones

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible
like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't ' t live
without it?
What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my
Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't
have to worry about our Bible being disconnected
because Jesus already paid the bill.
Makes you stop and think, where are my priorities?
And nodropped calls!

"The Big Night"

Well, the big event was last nite and tho the rain cut the evening short it was, for me anyway, a great evening. When Steve & I left the front gate there were 382 people there! We left the event soaking wet & exhausted but blessed.
My Sunday school class just finished up the book "Battlefield of the mind" by Joyce Meyer. I got there about half way thru the book. I have anxiety attacks & this book has helped me tremendously! I really enjoyed being in that class & having a fabulous teacher in Samantha. Our new book is "Believing in God" by Beth Moore. I hear many good things about her but have never read any of her books or studies. Am really looking forward to this class. Tho Steve & I don't know where we're going or what we're doing I hope to be around to finish this study. I have the book so I can study it on my own if we aren't around. Tho it is nice to be with fellow Christians to do studies like this. To me it's a support group. God Bless the teachers of these studies.

LET GOD!!!

I found this a while back & try to use it everyday (I said TRY).
Good morning!
This is God. I will be handling all of your problems today. I will not need your help.
So, relax & have a good day!

I love it! BUT, my problem is that I have the problem of giving God all of my problems & then take some of them back because I guess I don't think He's working fast enough. I struggle with this a lot. I just have to remember the 'I WILL NOT NEED YOUR HELP' part. Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
It's going to be a very busy day t'day. We have "The Big Night" tonite & Steve & I are helping at different points all evening. This is a first for both of us. I have worked with young people but not this large a group. Steve, a new Christian, never has. So much prayer needed please.

ANYTHING & EVERYTHING

This is my first attempt at blogging other than on myspace, so please forgive me if it doesn't sound right or look right. First of all, I am from Oklahoma. I miss the flat, open landscape a lot. I'm also a country girl so city life is just a little much. I also have family in Oklahoma. My daughter and grandsons are there, as are my mom and my 97 yr old grandmother. My husband is an over-the-road truck driver and I'll be able to go with him next month but he doesn't go west of the Mississippi and the company won't allow pets and we have a wonderful cat named Allie Rose. I have lots of things on my mind lately (i.e. the title wonderings). I was in Walmart recently looking for something and ran into this lady. I didn't know her from Eve and we started talking about jobs. I don't have one but told her I'd like to do try volunteer work. She said she worked but was very unhappy with her job. She said she felt like she worked hard and was good at what she did but felt very unappreciated. Her boss never told her "thank you" or "nice job". You know, I think a job goes a lot easier when it's appreciated. A person seems to enjoy doing it more if they're told thanks. I used to work at a Christian book store and my boss told me every day when I got ready to go home, "thank you for all the hard work you did today". Now, I might not have had a good day that day, but her saying that made me WANT to come to work the next day. I told the lady to smile, pray about it and keep working hard. So, if you're reading this and you know someone who needs a little pickmeup, tell 'em thanks, or have a nice day and smile when ya say it!
